KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 (Bernama) — Japan’s Hotel Royal Classic Osaka will accept online reservations, beginning July 1, although scheduled to open Dec 1.

Operated by Royal Classic Ltd (a subsidiary of Bellco Co Ltd), the hotel was designed by globally celebrated Japanese architect, Kengo Kuma, and incorporates the facade of the former Osaka Shin-Kabukiza theatre.

The opening of the hotel marks the birth of a striking new landmark for the central Osaka Minami Area, according to a statement.

With 150 luxury guest rooms and suites, Hotel Royal Classic Osaka offers a choice of restaurants, function rooms and wedding facilities. An ideal setting for a host of business, bridal and sightseeing applications will also be provided.

The hotel strives to honour the history of a location that served as a crucible for distinctive local cultures, bringing fresh value to Osaka Minami and boosting Osaka’s development as an international tourist hub.

KUALA LUMPUR, June 27 (Bernama) — The People’s Government of Hezhou City of Guangxi and Shunfeng Tourism Group recently held a signing ceremony involving Shunfeng Hot Spring Recreation and Tourism Development Project at Guposhan Industrial Zone in Hezhou, China.

The city aims to meet health care, tourism and recreation needs in the Greater Bay Area, accelerate development of recreation, tourism and health industry, and strive to build a Greater Bay Area tourism destination.

In the first quarter of this year, Hezhou has received 10.5501 million domestic tourists, including 7.06 million from Greater Bay Area with a tourism consumption of 11.689 billion yuan, up 30.06 per cent and 31.24 per cent, respectively, year on year.

According to a statement from the Publicity Department of Hezhou Municipal CPC Committee, Hezhou is located at the junction of Guangdong, Guangxi and Hunan provinces, adjacent to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

With nearly 500 centenarians residing in Hezhou, the city has been awarded the title of ‘World Longevity City’ by the International Population Ageing and Longevity Guide Committee and the Health and Environment Committee of International Geographical Union.

The construction that connected with the Greater Bay Area will promote investment, and initiate setting up cultural, tourism and health care projects, including Shunfeng Hot Spring Recreational Tourism Development Project and ‘Mengli Huangyao’ Cultural Tourism Innovation Town.

Hezhou has become well-known among tourists from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, with Huangyao Ancient Town and Gupo Mountain Scenic Spot rated as the favourite destinations of the Guangdong people.

KUALA LUMPUR, June 13 (Bernama) — Crown Bioscience, a global drug discovery and development services company has announced four new pre-clinical translational NASH models in development.

NASH is a degenerative liver disease that affects up to 12 per cent of the adult population worldwide and without treatment, is expected to become the leading cause for liver transplants by 2020.

CrownBio is committed to the NASH drug development community through continued research and development of translatable preclinical NASH models. This dedicated investment will result in the availability of four new models over the next 12 months.

The models comprise chemically-enhanced murine model using carbon tetrachloride; modified diet model which more closely mimic a western diet and exacerbates fibrosis; accelerated diet-induced murine model; and, accelerated diet-induced NHP model.

These models will join the existing CrownBio NASH platform, according to a statement.

A webinar that presents solutions to the challenges associated with pre-clinical modelling of NASH will be host to support International NASH Day 2019. CrownBio will also donate US$25 for each person attending the webinar to the Global Liver Institute. (US$1 = RM 4.16)

KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 (Bernama) — Mary Kay Inc has partnered with The Nature Conservancy, to advance sustainable fishing practices in The Gulf of Mexico.

The Texas Fisheries & Coastal Resilience Program aims to curb overfishing, habitat damage and bycatch (the incidental capture of non-target species during commercial fishing).

The programme will support fishery management to restore and maintain aquatic ecosystems, while also fostering innovation, community collaboration and policies that enable sustainability across the Gulf.

As more people are drawn to coastal states for their booming economies, the way they sustain growth will directly impact the health of their natural resources.
