FUZHOU’S JASMINE TEA, THE MILLENNIA-OLD FLOWER MESSENGER OF CHINA — PROMO VIDEO OF FUZHOU CITY RELEASED

FUZHOU, China, Feb 28, 2023 /Xinhua-AsiaNet/–

Recently, the promotional video of Fuzhou city of Fujian Province, titled “What You Did Not Know about Fuzhou — Jasmine Tea”, was released through overseas social media accounts including “Oriental.Paris”, “Discover Fujian” and “Discover Fuzhou”, inviting overseas friends to taste the history and customs of Fuzhou through a cup of Chinese tea, according to the Publicity Department of the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee.

In the promo video, scented tea with fresh fragrance is made out of a jasmine flower through ingenious craftsmanship and numerous processes. These traditional techniques have been passed down for thousands of years in Fuzhou. It not only contains the unique romance of “A jasmine flower, a lifelong attachment”, it has shaped the character of Fuzhou people and instilled a great sense of family and country into them. Today, jasmine tea has gradually become a characteristic name card of this coastal modern city to go global, present its new look and build friendship.

In December 2022, “Chinese traditional tea making techniques and related customs” passed the review and was included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The jasmine tea scenting process of Fuzhou, a national intangible cultural heritage of China, is one of the representative programs of the application list.

Fuzhou’s jasmine tea is a millennia-old flower messenger of China. As an important node city of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, Fuzhou is taking tea as a matchmaker to scale up international connections, drill down regional cooperations, and spread out fragrance, friendship, and peace to the world.

30 FINANCIAL MEASURES ENACTED TO EXPEDITE SHENZHEN-HONG KONG FINANCIAL CONNECTIVITY

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 (Bernama) — Qianhai has made another breakthrough in financial innovation and now appears to be the first stop for Hong Kong-invested financial institutions to enter the mainland.

The Opinions on Providing Financial Support for the Comprehensive Deepening of Reform and Opening Up of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone (the Opinions) was officially released on Feb 23.

According to the Authority of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone in a statement, with the Opinions, Qianhai will play a greater role in helping Hong Kong integrate into the overall national development

The Opinions set out 30 financial measures covering financial services related to people’s livelihoods, mutual access between financial markets, the development of the modern financial industry, facilitation of cross-border trade and investment, among others.

The 30 measures have further defined the path to achieving a higher and deeper level of financial opening up and cooperation with Hong Kong.

In a recent interview, Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited Asia-Pacific co-chief executive, David Liao said the introduction of the 30 measures marked another round of promotion of mutual financial market access between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

“The measures will lay the foundation for the convergence of financial rules and mechanisms in the Greater Bay Area, and allow the exploration of new paths for the high-level opening up of the mainland’s financial industry,” he said.

In recent years, Qianhai’s financial industry has constantly aligned with international standards and it has continued to highlight its function as a demonstration window of the opening up of the financial industry in China.

Now, the Opinions have advanced new goals for the opening up of Qianhai’s financial industry. The plan is for Qianhai to put together an implementation task list for the Opinions to set up a task plan, roadmap, timeline and accountability system.

Qianhai will strive to hold a Shenzhen-Hong Kong Financial Forum, strengthen the Shenzhen-Hong Kong financial regulatory cooperation system, prevent cross-border financial risks, and promote the further opening up and development of Qianhai.

JUNIPER RESEARCH: EV CHARGING TO GENERATE $300 BILLION GLOBALLY BY 2027, AS SIEMENS RANKED MARKET LEADER

BASINGSTOKE, England, Feb 21 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) — A new study from Juniper Research has found revenue from EV (Electric Vehicle) charging will exceed $300 billion globally by 2027; up from $66 billion in 2023. The report, EV Charging: Key Opportunities, Regional Analysis & Market Forecasts 2023-2027, found fragmentation in charging networks is restricting EV adoption.

Chargers are overwhelmingly located in urban areas; leading to widespread range anxiety among potential drivers. This is coupled with the difficulty of accessing charging points via different apps and cards, as well as lack of standards for charging vehicles at the same rate. As such, EV charging networks must simplify access and work with local authorities to roll out chargers to a wider range of locations, or the EV market will struggle to accelerate.

Siemens Tops Juniper Research Competitor Leaderboard

The research assessed leading EV charging vendors and evaluated them on a number of criteria, including depth and breadth of offerings, innovation and future prospects; providing extensive analysis of the competitive landscape in this dynamic market.

The Competitor Leaderboard ranked the three leading vendors as follows:

  1. Siemens
  2. ChargePoint
  3. ABB

Research author Jordan Rookes explained further: “Siemens demonstratesan intricate knowledge of the market; targeting currently underserved segments, particularly public transport and fleets. Competing vendors mustdiversify their portfolio away from just home and public chargers, and start targeting alternative high-growth market segments to maximise their market share.”

Charging Vendors Must Leverage Loyalty to Differentiate

The research also predicts by 2027, the total number of plug-in vehicles will surpass 137 million globally; up from 49 million in 2023. As this adoption grows, charging vendors must differentiate their services in a highly fragmented market. As such, it is important for EV charging vendors to target consumers as early as possible to build brand loyalty. Accordingly, vendors must develop strategic partnerships with automotive manufacturers, offering benefits such as discounted rates to encourage owners of certain EV brands to use their charging stations; helping EV charging vendors remain competitive.

STEAM-ROLLING TO EXCELLENCE: MARY KAY EMPOWERS NEXT GENERATION WOMEN LEADERS

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 (Bernama) — Mary Kay Inc, a global advocate for women’s empowerment and education, recently hosted a group of 25 young women for an educational, inspirational exploration of Women in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM), in conjunction with International Day of Women and Girls in Science on Feb 11.

The group which attended the STEAM-themed summit was from Dallas Independent School District’s Young Women’s Preparatory Network (YWPN)/Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School.

Its Chief Innovation Officer, Product and Science, Dr Lucy Gildea said Mary Kay was committed to empowering and inspiring the next generation of women to pursue their passions—because the future is STEAM.

“Women are underrepresented in the STEAM workforce, but we can narrow that gap by providing critical early learning opportunities and exposure for young women to seek out and explore STEAM careers of interest,” she said in a statement.

The high school-aged students spent the day at Mary Kay’s Richard R. Rogers Manufacturing/Research and Development (R&D) Center (R3) in Lewisville, Texas, United States, where they toured the state-of-the-art facility and learned about the different aspects of STEAM-related manufacturing processes in a complex, global beauty company.

Following the tour, students heard from a panel of female experts in their respective STEAM fields which consisted of experts in fields such as Upstream Innovation, Product Formulation, Information Technology, Product Research, Portfolio & Strategy Planning and Process Development.

YWPN is a non-profit agency that partners with public school districts across the state of Texas to operate the largest network of all-girl, public, college preparatory schools in the nation, in which the schools are located in struggling urban neighbourhoods and have a proven track record of academic achievement, high school graduate and college acceptance rates.

Mary Kay celebrates and encourages young women who are taking charge of their futures through leadership, innovation and determination to excel in STEAM fields.

By offering continued support to young women in STEAM fields, the company is continuing Mary Kay’s mission, which is to improve the lives of women everywhere.
