TOURISM MALAYSIA EXPLORES TIOMAN ISLAND & KUANTAN WITH MEDIA AND INFLUENCERS

KUANTAN, Aug 23 (Bernama) — In conjunction with the Cuti-Cuti Malaysia campaign, Tourism Malaysia brought nine (9) local social media influencers on a 5-day 4-night (5D4N) familiriasiation trip to explore Pahang, the East Coast of Malaysia from 15th to 19th August 2022.

Covering ecotourism, gastronomy, golfing, as well as arts and culture, the fam trip brought participants to explore Pahang’s quaint towns, namely Rompin, Pekan, and Kuantan, as well as Pulau Tioman, the state’s top tourist destination. The journey kickstarted with a night at Villea Rompin Resort & Golf, before participants headed for a 3-day 2-night (3D2N) island vacation in Tioman.

Hosted by Berjaya Tioman Resort, participants were taken to explore the island’s natural wonders, from up above the hills down to to the depths of the sea. Among the activities enjoyed by the participants include an ATV ride to the Turtle Sanctuary, kayak and stand-up paddle board, intimate dinners by the beach, a 9-hole golf tournament, and the highlights of the trip: diving and snorkelling across the protected waters of Pulau Tioman.

The trip continued in Pekan where participants explored the local cuisine at Kafe Belibis, trying out Laksa Pahang and the locals’ favourite dessert, Puding Raja. In Kuantan, participants feasted on Pahang’s crazed Ikan Patin Tempoyak at Jaman Tory Resepi, a conceptual restaurant that takes its customers back in time upon entering. Participants then spent a day touring the Kuantan City, visiting Kompleks Pengembangan Tenun Pahang Diraja Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Kuantan Street Art, the Kuantan 188 Tower, and riding the Kuantan River Cruise.

GLOSSY GANODERMA CONFERENCE IN GUAN XIAN REACHES TANGIBLE OUTCOMES

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 (Bernama) — With a theme centred on developing Guan Xian’s fertile land of glossy ganoderma (a type of mushroom), the China Guan Xian Glossy Ganoderma Whole Industry Chain Development Conference was held from August 19 to 21 in Liaocheng, Shandong Province, China.

The conference offered insights into the achievement of quality development of the glossy ganoderma industry and posed solutions for overall industry chain development in Guan Xian, the People’s Government of Guan Xian said in a statement.

Guan Xian, which is home to more than 10,000 glossy ganoderma greenhouses covering an area of over 600 hectares, currently has an annual output of 12,000 tonnes of mushrooms and spore powder, more than 400,000 bonsai pots, and an annual turnover of about RMB2.56 billion (RMB100=RM65.36)

It has become China’s largest glossy ganoderma planting and trading base, the products of which are widely distributed to major Chinese herbal medicines and pharmaceuticals wholesale markets, as well as to 20 countries and regions including South Korea and Singapore.

As one of the precious Chinese herbal medicines, glossy ganoderma is a medicinal fungus mainly found in tropical and subtropical regions.

It is regarded as a “magical herb” in Chinese folklore. Modern pharmacological studies have shown that glossy ganoderma has effects on improving memory, regulating immunity, relieving fatigue, anti-coagulation, and bacteriostasis.

In recent years, Guan Xian has made every effort to take its glossy ganoderma industry to the fast track of development.

CBI INDEX 2022: CS GLOBAL PARTNERS REPORTS THAT CARIBBEAN NATIONS EYEING TOP POSITIONS

London, Aug 15 (Bernama-GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The CBI Index which is a yearly report that compares citizenship by investment programmes by ranking their performances and desirability is due for release later this week. The index ranks programmes through nine pillars of excellence that measures their overall performance and appeal. 
 
Released yearly by the Financial Times’ PWM Magazine, the CBI Index rating system uses a wide range of indicators to measure how well global citizenship by investment (CBI) programmes work and how appealing they are. Its goal is to provide a rigorous and systematic way to evaluate programmes and make it easier for people to take informed choices about economic citizenship. 
 
The 2021 CBI Index featured fourteen countries from around the world, with five from the Caribbean region: Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia and St Kitts and Nevis. The index also featured nine countries from Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, including Austria, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Egypt, Jordan, Malta, Montenegro, Turkey and Vanuatu. The Caribbean region are pioneers of the CBI industry, with St Kitts and Nevis launching the world’s first citizenship by investment programme in 1984. 
 
Since the launch of the CBI Index in 2017, the Commonwealth of Dominica has been topping the charts and is regarded as one of the world’s leading citizenship by investment programmes. The Dominica CBI has continued to post exceptional scores for each of the nine pillars. Launched in 1993, it is the second oldest CBI programme in the world, with the government utilising the inflow of revenue to mitigate the impact of climate change and natural disasters. 
 
In the 2021 CBI Index, Dominica scored a maximum score of ten in five out of the nine pillars, while scoring a solid nine in the citizenship timeline pillar. The minimum investment outlay, mandatory travel, ease of the process, due diligence, family, and certainty of product pillars showed the performance of the Dominica CBI, which scored a final score of 80.  There are speculations that Dominica might emerge as the best CBI programme this year.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 (Bernama) — Carlo Rino has partnered with University Malaya, one of the oldest and highest ranking Malaysian institutions of higher education, to award a scholarship fund for students with an interest in the arts. The ceremony was officiated by Carlo Rino Managing Director, Dato’ Sri William Chiang and Director of Alumni Office of University Malaysia, Associate Professor Dr Nahrizul Adib Kadri at Chancellery University of Malaya.

The aim of the scholarship fund is to support the youth with education opportunities, not only through financial aid but by helping them to gain professional experience and exposure to the corporate world through an internship programme with Carlo Rino. Through the internship, the five selected students will cultivate and hone their skills in idea creation, design, photography and videography.

The five recipients of the RM50,000 scholarship fund will be chosen based on their interest in the arts, family background, financial status and academic standing, regardless of their current area of study. The fund will contribute to their tuition fees in order to offer financial support as they pursue their passion relentlessly.

The scholarship fund is set to be a recurring initiative for Carlo Rino to guide youth and provide them with the necessary skills and experience to flourish in the corporate world.

Recently, Jingxi Cross-border E-commerce Experience Center & Jingxi E-commerce Public Service Center in Baise, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was inaugurated. This new model of cross-border e-commerce will help reduce the operation and management costs of cross-border trade enterprises, improve the facilitation level of cross-border trade, and also help Jingxi characteristic agricultural products “go global, expand its markets, and sold globally”.
