The world famous Awa Dance has a 400 years history. The story of its origin varies. It is said that Awa Dance was performed often around the time Hachisuka Iemasa, a feudal load of Tokushima, entered Tokushima in 1586, and hoarded the wealth produced by the indigo and salt trades. Later, indigo traders played an active part and made the dance even more gorgeous year by year. Awa Dance was established in the civil society and flourished as a free-form of mass entertainment. Especially, after World War II, it developed rapidly as a symbol of reconstruction. Nowadays, Awa Dance is well-known around the world as a representative of Japans traditional arts. Country Garden’s Forest City ready for tourists

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 3 (Bernama) — As the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has set a new target of attracting 9.2 million tourists this year, Country Garden’s Forest City, one of the tourist cards of Johor Bahru, is ready for tourists.

According to a statement, based on Country Garden’s 26 years of design concepts, Forest City has cooperated with international professional teams such as SASAKI to design and develop.

With a coastline of four kilometres, the city is designed with vertical green walls, sky gardens, and roof garden systems to form a multi-dimensional three-dimensional greening system.

With the recovery of tourism in Malaysia, all Forest City projects are running as usual. For example, Forest City Water Park has opened with programmes including Surf n Slide, Water Fun Challenge, and Water Maze.

On the other hand, this smart city has first-class hotels, including the Forest City Golf Hotel and the Forest City Marina Hotel. Both hotels offer hundreds of luxurious rooms and are equipped with facilities including restaurant, and fitness centre.

Forest City has also built two world-class courses, the Jack Nicklaus Legacy Golf Course and the Liang Guo Kun Classic Golf Course.

In typical Nicklaus style, multiple tees ensure that golfers of all levels can enjoy the game. The Classic Golf Course is a breakthrough in the traditional design concept. The various slopes on the fairway increase the difficulty and interest of the golf game.

Forest City strives to create various tourism projects to provide tourists with an unforgettable vacation experience.

CONAGEN UNVEILS COMMERCIAL PRODUCTION OF HIGH-PURITY NON-GMO SALIDROSIDE

Ideal for adaptogen supplement solutions and natural preservatives in food and beverages.

Bedford, Mass., Sept 29 (Bernama-GLOBE NEWSWIRE) —Conagen announced the commercialization of its 99% high-purity salidroside made by bioconversion technology, an active ingredient from the herbal plant Rhodiola rosea (golden root). Its strong antioxidant properties as an adaptogen are associated with reducing inflammation, protecting against oxidative stress in cells, and providing relief from depression, fatigue, and stress. Salidroside has also been used to alleviate high altitude sickness.

Unlike other salidroside products currently on the market, Conagen’s salidroside is non-GMO. Conagen leveraged its industry-leading bioconversion technology to produce clean, sustainable salidroside, identical to the compound naturally found in the Rhodiola rosea plant — the same technology used to produce non-GMO Rebaudioside M, other steviol glycosides, and bitter blockers for sugar reduction solutions which are available from their pipeline partner, Sweegen.

Conagen’s 99% high-purity salidroside, made by bioconversion, is ideal for non-GMO supplement solutions to formulate products with a sustainable and natural consumer appeal. It is readily soluble in water and is very formulable in food and beverage applications.

“We’re reimagining the way in which rare ingredients are sourced to make them safer and higher-quality for use in health-promoting products,” said Casey Lippmeier, Ph.D., senior vice president of innovation at Conagen. “Our bioconversion technology enables us to deliver non-GMO products. Through this technology, we’re unlocking salidroside’s great potential as a powerful active health ingredient and as a tool for food and beverage producers to adopt a more natural way to preserve food and beverages.”

Food and beverage producers benefit from Conagen’s salidroside as it also possesses antimicrobial properties, making it useful as a natural preservative solution for brands seeking alternatives to artificial preservatives. Salidroside expands Conagen’s portfolio of natural preservatives, such as Taxifolin BC-DHQ® and Rosavel™ rosmarinic acid, currently available from another pipeline partner, Blue California.

Stress reduction is popular among consumers, typically addressed by exercise or indulgence in food and beverages. More consumers are taking a holistic approach to their health, including their mental well-being and sleep. They are exploring adaptogens as one of the additional positive ways to add an edge to their diets and lifestyles.

“Salidroside is one of the rare, natural molecules with proven adaptogenic activities which correlates to stress reduction,” said Lippmeier. “Initially identified in botanical extracts, adaptogens are promising new options in the quest to relieve the stress of our daily lives. This trend opens new opportunities for supplement brands and food and beverage manufacturers to adopt a health-focused profile for their products.”

Conagen accelerated salidroside production by leveraging one of its proprietary molecular platforms, which have also been used to produce the clean antioxidants hydroxytyrosol and p-coumaric acid. Salidroside is a glucoside of tyrosol. Conagen’s antimicrobial and antioxidant compounds, hydroxytyrosol and p-coumaric acid are also now available through Blue California.

The inputs of fermentation are tightly controlled, dramatically reducing the chance of contamination with heavy metals, fungal toxins, and other unsafe materials that may be found in traditional medicine preparations. Rhodiola rosea extract is most commonly used in Europe and Asia. Its medicinal use for reducing stress and depression can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty in the classic medicinal scripture Compendium of Materia Medica.

NEW SAFETY LAW, SERIOUS ACCIDENTS PUNISHMENT ACT CHANGING KOREA CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 (Bernama) — The need for safety management across industrial sites has increased significantly in South Korea recently, with the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act (SAPA).

As fatal accidents on industrial sites have become a major social issue, the National Assembly has passed SAPA which took effect on Jan 27, 2022, according to a statement.

Although SAPA is not much different from the established Occupational Safety and Health Act as both Acts are aimed at preventing serious accidents while ensuring the safety of workers.

It has expanded the range of those applicable disasters to a great extent with much enhanced punishment for violating the law.

With a surge in market demand to comply with SAPA, various solutions and products have been released to take a proactive approach to prevent accidents and casualties at construction sites.

LG U+ introduced “Smart Safety Solution,” a Bluetooth and machine learning-based smart safety platform.

Meanwhile, GSIL, a smart safety company, launched a smart safety integrated platform “BE-IT” with 4th industrial technologies such as IoT, ICT, and AI, providing a solution to manage safety issues and productivity through integrated safety data in the field.

The K-ConSafety Expo, which will be held at KINTEX in Goyang from Oct 19 to 21, is a great opportunity to meet the latest products and solutions of smart construction safety companies to manage on-site safety and prevent serious accidents.

In addition to LG U+ and GSIL, POSCO ICT will participate as an official sponsor.
