On November 2, the press conference on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Baise City was held in Nanning, Guangxi. In the past 20 years, Baise has insisted on giving priority to industry and made every effort to promote the high-quality development of strong industry, characteristic agriculture and modern service industry. With the total output value growing 8.5 times, the total volume of import and export trade increasing by 44 times, and the scale of aluminum industry reaching RMB 100 billion, Baise successively won the honorary titles of “Top Tourist City of China” and “National Garden City”.

Located in the west of Guangxi, Baise is a prefecture-level city with the largest border area between China and Vietnam, and also an important frontier city for China to open and cooperate with ASEAN countries, according to the Publicity Department of Baise City. Over the past 20 years, Baise has seized opportunities, carried forward reform and innovation and forged ahead, significantly enhancing the overall strength of the city, greatly changing the appearance of urban and rural areas, substantially improving the people’s living standards, and achieving a great success in development and opening up. Public services such as employment, education, medical care, housing, maternity and old-age services have been well guaranteed and continuously improved, and the well-being of the people has been greatly improved. Its revitalization of industry has been developed rapidly and steadily, a regional power grid in Baise has been constructed and a national demonstration base for ecological aluminum industry has been built, with the scale of aluminum industry reaching RMB 100 billion. As its featured agriculture has been developed in an accelerated manner, Baise mango becomes one of the first 100 geographical indication products protected by European Union in China. Baise has pushed forward comprehensive management of mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes and grasses, and increased the forest coverage from 42.3% in 2002 to 73% in 2021, winning the honorary titles of “National Forest City” and “National Model City for Greening”.

Meanwhile, Baise persists in reform and opening up, and constantly improves the level of opening up. Baise Key Development and Opening Pilot Zone was approved to be set up, making it China’s first prefecture-level city-wide key development and opening pilot zone along the border. Longbang Port was upgraded to an international port and opened up the Naxi Corridor. Locals living by both sides of the border trade with each other and the output value of on-site processing of import goods ranks first in Guangxi. The international channel towards ASEAN has been further opened.

In addition, the construction of a batch of opening up and cooperation platforms, including Guangxi Aluminum Products Warehousing and Trading Center and Jingxi Border Economic Cooperation Zone, has been accelerated. The “Baise-1” train has successfully connected with China-Europe Railway Express, and foreign trade has developed rapidly. Baise has become one of the important node cities facing ASEAN and connecting the “Belt and Road”.

Facing the future, Baise will persist in opening up for development, build Baise Key Development and Opening Pilot Zone with high quality, and accelerate the construction of such platforms as the Border Economic Cooperation Zone and the Cross-province (District) Economic Park. Besides, Baise will actively integrate into the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area – Beibu Gulf Economic Zone – ASEAN” cross-regional and cross-border industrial chain supply chain and build a new pattern of higher-level opening up and cooperation.

Jeonju City announces completion of Hanok Village improvement project

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) — Jeonju City has announced that the “Hanok Village cultural facility and alleyway night view improvement project” has been successfully completed.

Providing tourists and citizens with beautiful night views that can be enjoyed in improved safety, Hanok Village is expected to increase its tour service hours to late at night, according to a statement.

“Through this project, we transformed Jeonju Hanok Village, the most Korean and world-class tourist site, so that visitors can enjoy the beauty and charm of the village also at night.

“We will continue dedicating our efforts toward landscape improvement so that Jeonju Hanok Village is remembered by tourists as a destination they would want to revisit both day and night,” said Director Heo Gap-su of Jeonju City’s Hanok Village Support Division.

Jeonju City installed landscape lighting on Taejo-ro, the main street of Hanok Village, and lighting facilities, including traditional lamps in cultural facilities and alleyways to help visitors enjoy the unique atmosphere of Jeonju Hanok Village also at night.

“The Cheongsachorong lanterns installed along the entrance to the village create shadow zones after lighting is turned off in stores,” it said.

To ensure the safety of tourists and visitors, Jeonju City enhanced the environment of the village through the night view improvement project.

External lighting has also been installed in cultural facilities, such as Jeonju Fan Culture Center, Choi Myeong Hee Literary Museum, Daesaseupcheong, Marudal, Wanpanbon Culture Center, and various creative art spaces, to add the “warmth of light” to Hanok cultural facilities.

XINCHENG COUNTY BOOSTS EFFORTS TO DEVELOP CATTLE BREEDING INDUSTRY

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) — Xincheng County has ramped up efforts to carry out the strategy of “enhancing agricultural steadiness” over the past few years to support and mobilise the mass to develop the cattle breeding industry.

“This consolidates the achievements in poverty alleviation, injects impetus to rural revitalisation, and pushes forward high-quality county economic development,” according to the Publicity Department of Xincheng County in a statement.

In the first half of this year, the gross production value of this county showed a year-on-year (y-o-y) growth of 3.3 per cent, and the value for agriculture, animal husbandry and fishery expanded 5.3 per cent y-o-y.

Xincheng County Committee secretary Wei Meng said that the county has given priority to extend the cattle industry chain, strengthen the cattle-leading industries and enhance the added value of the cattle industry to make progress in rural revitalisation.

In recent years, Xincheng County, grounding its effort in advantage in the featured industry, has adopted the development pattern led by leading enterprises, cooperatives, producing bases, and farmer households, and put in place a ‘Cattle City in Southern China’, a project for the whole industry chain with total investment value of 1.428 billion renminbi (100 renminbi=RM62.30).

Xincheng County has also opened up new channels for increasing revenue, including land conversion, planting pasture, cow breeding in every farmer household, and centralised fat cow breeding through cooperatives, which help the mass to live a better life.

For the past few years, Xincheng County has found through trial and error and established the interest mechanism connecting the group and each farm household, and the cattle economy in towns and administrative villages has flourished.

Xincheng County will try to build business area for the full industry chain of the Cattle City in Southern China, and products will be sold to Guangdong, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing, Hunan, and other proximal provinces and regions, making this specialised county region city more renown to other regions.

KLASJET EXPANDS PRODUCTS PORTFOLIO, ADDS BOEING 737 BBJ2 TO ITS FLEET
