News from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guizhou Province reveals that a Rapeseed Flower Festival will be held from 11 to 13 March in the northeastern city of Tongren, Guizhou Province, southwest China.

Spring is in full bloom everywhere. And farmers in Guizhou Province are not only turning rapeseed into edible oil, but also into paint. In Bijiang District, Tongren City, and Pingba District, Anshun City, farmers have painted the most enthusiastic look of spring with blossoming rapeseed flowers.

They even hold a rapeseed flower festival to celebrate spring. Who doesn’t love festivals in spring? Especially spring is a beautiful and intoxicated season.

People can shuttle through the sea of flowers to find the hidden ancient peoples, visit the unique villages scattered like stars among the flowers, chat with the locals, taste local food and tea, and try barbecue camping and farming practices. These experiences will offer people a different life and a different view.

Guizhou is home to world natural heritage sites of Fanjing Mountain and Huangguoshu Waterfall. Although they are far away in southwest China, they are linked with the rest of the world through high-rise bridges. Despite its geographical remoteness, Guizhou is actually an easily accessible region. To those who are just starting a journey to find the mysterious Garden of Eden in eastern China, the rapeseed flowers of Guizhou are a must.

Hong Kong opens door to visitors with largest events line-up

KUALA LUMPUR, March 7 (Bernama) — All eyes are on Hong Kong this month as the city welcomes back visitors by hosting its largest line-up of mega events in recent times while also ending the last of its pandemic-era restrictions.

Beginning with the sold-out return of arts and music festival Clockenflap in March 3-5, Hong Kong welcomed visitors from near and far to join a stand-out showcase of world-class arts, culture and sporting events that will return in full force.

The 2023 edition saw over 100 international and local acts performing over multiple stages with festival-goers from all around the world gathered to experience this long-awaited weekend with music under the light breeze and stunning view on Victoria Harbour.

According to the Hong Kong Tourism Board in a statement, the spotlight of the art world will once again be on Hong Kong this March, thanks to its suite of world-class events, including the biggest edition of Art Basel Hong Kong (March 21-25) since 2019.

This year, the global art fair will welcome more than 170 of the world’s leading galleries from over 30 countries and territories over its five-day run at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and will return with each of the special sectors, making it a must-attend event for the international art community.

Taking place concurrently will be Art Central (March 22-25), Hong Kong’s homegrown art fair that has established itself as one of the region’s most significant platforms for emerging artists.

As one of Asia’s most popular annual sporting events, Hong Kong Sevens returns in full force from March 31 to April 2 and this year’s iteration will be held without stadium social distancing caps or food and beverage constraints as well as a full complement of tickets, promising its signature combination of non-stop rugby and an electric, festival-like atmosphere.

Visitors will be able to take advantage of all the city has to offer and Hong Kong is set to return to its electrifying best, and is ready to welcome back international travellers seeking world-class experiences with a diverse suite of events taking place throughout March.

In the promo video, scented tea with fresh fragrance is made out of a jasmine flower through ingenious craftsmanship and numerous processes. These traditional techniques have been passed down for thousands of years in Fuzhou. It not only contains the unique romance of “A jasmine flower, a lifelong attachment”, it has shaped the character of Fuzhou people and instilled a great sense of family and country into them. Today, jasmine tea has gradually become a characteristic name card of this coastal modern city to go global, present its new look and build friendship.

In December 2022, “Chinese traditional tea making techniques and related customs” passed the review and was included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The jasmine tea scenting process of Fuzhou, a national intangible cultural heritage of China, is one of the representative programs of the application list.

Fuzhou’s jasmine tea is a millennia-old flower messenger of China. As an important node city of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, Fuzhou is taking tea as a matchmaker to scale up international connections, drill down regional cooperations, and spread out fragrance, friendship, and peace to the world.

30 FINANCIAL MEASURES ENACTED ​TO EXPEDITE SHENZHEN-HONG KONG FINANCIAL CONNECTIVITY

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 (Bernama) — Qianhai has made another breakthrough in financial innovation and now appears to be the first stop for Hong Kong-invested financial institutions to enter the mainland.

The Opinions on Providing Financial Support for the Comprehensive Deepening of Reform and Opening Up of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone (the Opinions) was officially released on Feb 23.

According to the Authority of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone in a statement, with the Opinions, Qianhai will play a greater role in helping Hong Kong integrate into the overall national development

The Opinions set out 30 financial measures covering financial services related to people’s livelihoods, mutual access between financial markets, the development of the modern financial industry, facilitation of cross-border trade and investment, among others.

The 30 measures have further defined the path to achieving a higher and deeper level of financial opening up and cooperation with Hong Kong.

In a recent interview, Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited Asia-Pacific co-chief executive, David Liao said the introduction of the 30 measures marked another round of promotion of mutual financial market access between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

“The measures will lay the foundation for the convergence of financial rules and mechanisms in the Greater Bay Area, and allow the exploration of new paths for the high-level opening up of the mainland’s financial industry,” he said.

In recent years, Qianhai’s financial industry has constantly aligned with international standards and it has continued to highlight its function as a demonstration window of the opening up of the financial industry in China.

Now, the Opinions have advanced new goals for the opening up of Qianhai’s financial industry. The plan is for Qianhai to put together an implementation task list for the Opinions to set up a task plan, roadmap, timeline and accountability system.

Qianhai will strive to hold a Shenzhen-Hong Kong Financial Forum, strengthen the Shenzhen-Hong Kong financial regulatory cooperation system, prevent cross-border financial risks, and promote the further opening up and development of Qianhai.
