BEIJING, China and BLUE BELL, Pa, 2 Feb. 2020/Medianet International-AsiaNet/–

– China’s leading IT provider to air travel and tourism industry renews commitment to Unisys ClearPath(R) OS 2200 environment with expanded processing capacity –

Unisys Corporation(http://www.unisys.com/)(NYSE: UIS) today announced that TravelSky(https://www.travelskyir.com/html/index.php), the leading provider of information technology solutions for China’s air travel and tourism industry, has deepened its longstanding commitment to Unisys ClearPath Forward(R)(https://www.unisys.com/offerings/clearpath-forward) technology as a secure, innovative, reliable platform to process the business critical transactions including passenger reservations, cargo bookings and load calculations.

Under the contract, signed in the fourth quarter of 2020, Unisys will upgrade and expand TravelSky’s processing capacity with the addition of advanced technology, powered by ClearPath(R)( https://www.unisys.com/offerings/clearpath-forward/clearpath-forward-products/clearpath-os-2200-software) OS 2200 software. It also includes application development services to cloud-enable the Unisys Open Message Switching Engine (OMSE) – a communications front end that allows travel agencies, airline reservation offices and external systems to communicate with the mission-critical TravelSky systems.

The new technology will provide TravelSky with expanded processing capacity to support China’s aviation industry as it rapidly recovers from the impact of COVID-19. The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) reported that China saw 13.26 million air trips during the eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday 1-8 October 2020, reaching 91.07% recovery compared to the same period in 2019[1].

“TravelSky maintains and operates several critical passenger and cargo solutions used by China’s air travel and tourism industries including the Global Distribution System (GDS), Reservation System (RES), Departure and Cargo systems. As China’s aviation industry continues to rapidly recover after COVID-19, the additional processing capacity within the scalable, secure and flexible ClearPath Forward environment will enable us to process more transactions – such as reservations and load calculations critical to flight safety – quickly and securely,” said TravelSky Senior Vice President, Mr. Li Jingsong.

The solution for TravelSky leverages the unmatched security(

Guangxi strengthens sports economy, culture via sports-tourism integration

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 4 — The 2020 Hundred Health and Sports Companies’ Trip to Guangxi and the China-ASEAN Sports Tourism Carnival was unveiled in Fangchenggang for three days, ending Dec 21.

Co-hosted by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Sports Bureau and Fangchenggang Municipal Government, the event witnessed a series of new projects and plans that tapped the potential of Guangxi’s sports industry.

At the opening ceremony, the organisers introduced a batch of sports tourism boutique routes, sports complexes, sports tourism demonstration bases, mountain sports camps, aviation sports bases and sports industry demonstration projects in the region.

According to a statement, honorary plaques were awarded to five cities of Nanning, Guilin, Liuzhou, Beihai and Fangchenggang, which were selected as the first batch of sports tourism demonstration cities in Guangxi, and eight demonstration counties (districts) including Yangshuo County and Xiufeng District of Guilin.

At the end of 2018, Guangxi was approved by the General Administration of Sport of China to support the creation of a national sports tourism demonstration zone. Remarkable results have been made over the past few years.

Guangxi held the China-ASEAN Sports Tourism Carnival for two consecutive years from 2019 to 2020 (Tourism Carnival) to deepen the integration between sports and tourism, enhance the tourism quality, tap the potential of the sports sector, and create new growth points for the regional economy.

From the unrivalled landscape in Guilin to picturesque sea views in Fangchenggang, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Sports Bureau has envisioned a bright prospect for its sports industry by bolstering domestic demand extensively and amassing industrial development momentum.

As the first ‘highlight’ of the Tourism Carnival, ‘2020 China-ASEAN Online Sports Product Consumption Week’ was opened. During the event, Guangxi residents were subsidised when paying for sporting goods, invigorating the sports consumer market and stimulated sports consumption in Guangxi.
