MARY KAY CONTINUES ITS DECADES-LONG COMMITMENT TO SKIN CARE INNOVATION WITH NEW RESEARCH ON RETINOL TOLERANCE

Global Cosmetics Company Presents Latest Skin Science Research at the 2021 Reunión Anual de Dermatólogos Latinoamericanos

DALLAS, April 30 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) — As one of the world’s leading innovators in skin science research for nearly six decades, Mary Kay Inc. continues its longstanding commitment to the advancement of cutting-edge skin care at the 2021 Reunión Anual de Dermatólogos Latinoamericanos (RADLA), a scientific Latin American conference. The virtual event held April 15-18 provided an opportunity for dermatology experts worldwide to exchange information on technological advances and new scientific achievements.

This press release features multimedia. View the full release here:
https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20210429005370/en/

Through live and on-demand sessions, the event brought together researchers, academicians and scientists from the global dermatology community. Scientific posters and sessions unveiled the latest in skin science research and analysis. Mary Kay was proud to share research on a gradual retinization process that significantly improves tolerance to higher concentrated pure retinol, while still delivering retinol’s key skin benefits. This gradual retinization process was developed using a series of 12-week safety and clinical studies.

“Retinol is a gold standard ingredient when it comes to skin care. Beauty products containing retinol are marketed globally but higher concentration retinol products are commonly associated with potential skin irritation, stinging sensation and peeling as skin acclimates to retinol use. Through safety and clinical studies in both the United States and China, we found that a gradual retinization process can significantly improve tolerability and still provide known skin benefits associated with retinol,” said Dr. Lucy Gildea, Chief Scientific Officer at Mary Kay Inc. “We are honored to present our findings at RADLA among the world’s foremost skin care experts at this prestigious event.”

RADLA was created in 1972 due to the increasing importance and medical social responsibility of dermatology in Latin America. During the annual conference, leading skin care experts from around the world convene to exchange scientific findings on a wide range of topics in the various fields of dermatology.

“Our participation in RADLA is a tremendous opportunity to collaborate as we continue our commitment to remain at the forefront of advancements in skin health,” said Dr. Lucy Gildea. “It’s one of a series of partnerships with the scientific and academic communities to further expand Mary Kay’s leadership in science-based product development as we continue to provide the highest quality products to our Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants and brand lovers worldwide.”

HKTB Chairman accepts agreement on relaunching bilateral Hong Kong-Singapore Air Travel Bubble

KUALA LUMPUR, April 26 — The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) Chairman, Dr YK Pang has welcomed the agreement between the Governments of the Hong Kong SAR and Singapore on relaunching the bilateral Hong Kong-Singapore Air Travel Bubble (ATB).

“Relaunching the Air Travel Bubble with Singapore is the first step in Hong Kong’s resumption of international travel, and a milestone for preparing the city for gradually welcoming more visitors back,” said Dr Pang.

“We expect that travellers at the early stage of the launch of the ATB are those who travel for family visits or other essential reasons, and leisure travellers will return successively.”

According to a statement, the HKTB will continue to work with the tourism-related sectors in enhancing Hong Kong overall anti-epidemic measures in the city.

This includes standardised hygiene protocol launched last year for hotels, restaurants, transportation, shopping malls, tour operators and other tourism-related sectors, establishing a healthy and safe tourism image for Hong Kong.
